I am a hybrid, interdisciplinary design researcher working with an integrated approach at the intersection of imagination, human flourishing, and education. I envision a more creative, healthier society in which each individual embraces who they are, feels empowered to imagine their dream life, and is a life-long learner.

For 23+ years, I worked in the design space, successfully bringing social science and anthropology research to professional practice and academia, and leading higher education. My most recent work transcends design disciplinary boundaries to examine the impact of imagination and deliberate cognitive creativity on people’s inner growth and emotional well-being. Working from an interdisciplinary perspective, I study the philosophy, psychology, cognitive-neuroscience, and applications of imagination and everyday creativity to understand their role as catalysts for both inner development and transformational social change. I leverage my information design skills to synthesize knowledge across disciplines, systems understanding, and people’s experiences as well as to create the holistic and comprehensive picture.
My mission is to:
- Investigate the link between imagination and human flourishing from a transdisciplinary perspective
- Identify mental blocks and self-imposed constraints that hinder people’s ability to imagine, dream, and take action
- Design interventions to empower people to imagine and foster inner growth and well-being
- Develop pedagogical frameworks to integrate imagination and individual creativity competences throughout all stages of instruction
- Assess the impact of interventions and frameworks at individual and societal levels
My Journey
Originally from Argentina where I completed a BA(Hons) in Graphic Design at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA, FADU), I have taught in several leading institutions with diverse learning communities (including Goldsmith University, Rutgers University, Parsons School of Design, Princeton University, MIT), conducted cross-disciplinary academic research in renowned centers (University College London Interaction Center), and worked for numerous organizations in four different countries (US, UK, Spain, Argentina).
More than two decades ago, I moved to Barcelona to complete a postgraduate degree in Editorial Techniques and an MPhil in Information Design both at the University of Barcelona. My passion for understanding how information designers think took me to London to complete a PhD at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. In 2014, I moved to the New York-area; currently I live in Boston.
